Bid to stop suspension of parliament

A legal challenge to stop Boris Johnson forcing through a no-deal Brexit by suspending parliament has been allowed to proceed by the courts.

The petition, backed by more than 70 MPs and peers and filed at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, was granted permission to be heard by a judge. An initial hearing is due to take place before Lord Doherty on Tuesday to determine how it will proceed.
